"THE ODD FRIDAY"

POINT OF LIGHT

NOVEMBER 27, 2009

The Pig and the Cow

A rich man complained to his friend: "People don't like me. They say I'm selfish and stingy. And yet in my last will and testament I have donated all that I own to charitable causes." His friend said: "Well, maybe the story of the cow and the pig has a lesson for you. The pig came to the cow and complained: 'People always talk about your friendliness. I know you are friendly, you do give them milk. But they get much, much more from me. They get ham and bacon and lard and they even cook my feet. And yet - no one likes me. To all of them I am just a pig, a hog. Why is that?'

The cow thought it over a bit and then said: 'Perhaps it's because I give while I am still alive!'"

May the rains of life that fall upon your spirits now and then

Leave behind them pools of light

To make life bright again.

Clear and shining pools of light

Reflecting heavens blue

And possibly sometimes a star

To light the way for you.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

eat less,
don't ask for money all the time,
are easier to train,
normally come when called,
never ask to drive the car,
don't hang out with drug-using people,
don't smoke or drink,
don't want to wear your clothes,
don't have to buy the latest fashions,
don't need a gazillion dollars for college and
if they get pregnant, you can sell their children . . .

Donald Trump

"The barrier (to) success is not something which exists in the real world; it is composed purely and simply of doubts about ability."

Franklin Roosevelt

"The majority of men meet with failure because (they don't create) new plans to take the place of those that fail."

Napoleon Hill
