Just for giggles, a couple of months ago, I threw my resume' in at one of the local companies that contracts for the guvment. 'bout three weeks ago, I got a call for an interview, didn't have all the qualifications, and the interviewer told me that the "customer" is looking for someone specific, so, I sluffed it off. Last night, eating a nicely prepared rice and gravy with steak meal, I got a call, it was from one of the security managers, wanting more info from me, when asked, he said my chances of getting the job were decent,......hmmm. Again, put it in the back of my mind. This morning, the recruiter calls me to give more info and send me a background investigation. I told him that my TS/SCI had just had it's periodic review and is still active, but he had to do it for the company, so, I filled it out, faxed it in. Recruiter and I talk again, gives me the offer, I accept, start work on Feb 23rd,.....after not really looking. Funny thing is, when the recruiter and I initially spoke, he said that the job doesn't pay alot, starts out at $60k, I held my excitement as that is more than enough for my family and I, along with my retired pay, I'm gonna pull in some dough:thumbsup::thumbsup::drinking: :drinking:

Congrats, now you let your hair grown down to your knees and wear peace beads! Maybe not..... In any case, thanks for your service and enjoy your rewards.
That is great news for you and the family. After all of the USMC, this had ought to be a walk in the park. Congratulations.
Congrats Richard. Nothing wrong with getting some extra money while you can.
Congratulations!!! That's Great!!!
You "Semper ____" guys are awsome. (I am not a Marine and am not worthy to say the whole thing)
Congratulations and I am glad it turned out well. Welcome to the 39% tax bracket.
Go Head Gunny...After going through and being able to retire from the US military you deserve it. Congrats
if you stick with it and be a double dipper that is fun...
Glad you got it, hope you like it, and that you can get enough time off to enjoy the kick-back time you've earned.
Thanks ya'll, I'll keep ya posted on how it's going, as much as I'm allowed to anyway;)
Congrats, Richard!!! Hell, yer too young to "retire". Retirement is for old farts like me, not young bucks like you. Enjoy your new job!
