Is the oil thrower supposed to float on the crankshaft between the two keys? The back key holds the crank timing gear and when I put the oil thrower on, it has a key slot so it will fit over the key for the bottom pulley and goes past that key to ride against the timing gear but there is no section of either key to make it turn with the crankshaft. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Jim

When you secure the big bolt on the front of the crankshaft the damper sandwiches the thrower solidly against the crankshaft chain wheel.

Thanks Jack. That's what I thought but this is my first engine rebuild and I just wanted to make sure?
