I have a 1978 MG B roadster,I also have a 70 or earlier roadster that has an oil cooler on it and I would like to put the cooler on the 78.
The question is,Are the engine fittings the same through the years and are the fittings on the oil cooler the same. The oil cooler has no hoses with it as someone has transplanted a pinto engine into the bay and discarded the original hoses so I do`nt have the hoses to see if they will fit to the engine side.

If I were you, I wouldn't put an oil cooler on the 78. Its not worth the trouble. I would keep the cooler on the 70, but the benefits vs the effort to put one on the 78 doesn't make sense. Technically, with today's modern oils, an oil cooler is not necessary unless you are racing and heating the oil past it's working temp.
Just my .02. On the 78, you might want to consider the the MGA style steel oil pipe vs the flex hose connecting the oil gallery to the filter housing.
C/B and R/B hoses are different lengths but the fittings are the same throughout IIRC. The oil coolers can fit either car.
OK,thanks.
With the all different applications and parts nos. in the moss catalog I could`nt tell if the fittings were the same.
