Sorry for his loss. I saw that car driving into Ferndale after the California Melee. I was headed out to an appointment and could not turn back and talk to him. Wish him luck with it.

Ouch on the wreck and buy the time he gets done paying for his DUII he probably won’t have the money to fix his car. At least he didn’t kill himself or anyone else.

The front doesn't look too bad, but the rear is totaled.

I thought the MG was parked. A supposedly drunk hit and run driver clobbered it??

He posted the story about it on another MG forum. We suggested he take the bottle for fingerprinting but I'm not sure if that ever happened.

A real emotional tragedy for the owner. Our hearts go out to him.

"The original bondo went flying all over the place."

"original bondo" as compared to???????????

Shame to loose a car with so much patina! I am trying to decide if this was a rat rod, with well disguised engineering under the skin, or just a very well used GT? Do I see a hint of a 4 link suspension under the car in the one image?

That blows.

That car reminds me a lot of my GT. Mine is beat and not pretty but underneath it is a nice reliable car and I could not replace the uniqueness that car has just as he could not. That will not buff out however and he has A LOT of work ahead if he wants to save it.

BTW, what wheels are those? They are not Saabs which I first thought they were.

The wheels may be Panasports, Carl.

Sorry I misunderstood; I thought someone was driving the B under the influence. Double Ouch. Hopefully they will catch up with the hit and run driver when he goes to get his car fixed. I think that drinking and driving must be on the increase. Here in Portland their have been 2 stories in the news about just that. I hope he had the right type of insurance on his car so he can get another one or his rebuilt.

They are not Panasports as they have ten spokes and the spokes are much shorter. Panasports and Saab Shelby have eight spokes and a smaller center section. curious...

Look like an early version of 14" Superlite (they were for a weird Subaru fitment); or may have been for a Western Wheel marketed in the late 70's, also known as a Superlite (had a set on my Capri)
