I know it is Donington, but if anyone can identify the exact date, (probably 1980), I'd love to know. I have about 280 race programmes from Donington prewar through a lot of Nottingham Sports Car Club events, through to NZ for the last few years, but I must have lost the programme from this event!

This Magnette was being run by ace auto trimmer, Steve Whitren. It has a 1950cc engine and goes well. The Whenuapai airbase is fairly close to Auckland and the former base commander was a keen classic racer (FJ Gemini Mk III) but the last race meeting was run in 2000. Steve is now down in the South Island.

We used to get crowds of up to 40,000 - although many came for the wings!

In more recent times, it was owned by Dr Neil Goodwin who has recently retired from competing. Interior is still immaculate although a peek under the dash was a bit of a shock, as the wiring looked decidedly amateurish.
