With one of the parts cars I picked up a few weekends ago I found a test manual.
It's a "Lucas Fault Diagnosis Service Manual". Forty four pages long covering simple test procedures for the Starter, Coil Ignition, Dynamos, Alternators, Lighting, and Wiper Motors.
Every test is laid out with nice drawings and full test step procedures, using only a multimeter for the most part. I've never seen this manual before and was wondering if it is commonly found out there. I'd love to see this scanned into the forum's tech library (if legal). Top right hand corner says catalog No.XIA116
Wish I had found it weeks ago when troubleshooting my alt. :)

No idea, but I'm in the process of scanning mine to disk. That way I always have a clean copy and can print out just the pages I need. Also handy for posting certain procedures to this forum.

Yup, they have them on Ebay all the time, $10 to $15 including shipping, not too bad...

Why would you need a fault diagnosis manual if you have Lucas electrics?

Thanks Jim! Another two books added to my collection. :)
There are a lot of the old service manuals out there if you search for them.

The internet is full of surprises. Thanks for posting the link to the PDF file. This gets real info out to those who need it.
