In looking at the paint on my 1965 MGB it appears the original paint was a light blue. I have heard this referred to as Iris Blue. In looking through the paint codes that I have I see no reference to this colour. Does anyone know if this was an actual factory colour and if it is what the colour code might be. As usual thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, according to Clausager, Iris Blue was a colour used from 1962 to October 1965. I'll have a look for the paint code
Roger
Yeah its a factory color and in fact was one of the colors pictured in one of the original brochures I think you will fid it in the 64 -65 era along with Tartan red and Grampian gray Old Engish whte, Iris blue, BRG. My 73 has been repainted in OEW sort of a creamy white.
Here's the paint code

Roger thanks so much for the information and the website for paint codes. As usual I am blown away by the help on this site and the quick responses.
Here is the code. See Paul Hanley's car for the color.
Ditz #12235? This is for a 1964 MGB factory code BU12, Iris Blue.
