Walking across town to the office today, I spy this purple MGB with gold plated bumpers, mirrors, and wire wheels. The guy driving it wasn't sure he could legally park at the spot he was at (26th Street between between Madison Ave & 5th Ave. He couldn't...only commercial vehicles.) Guy was French, but spoke some English - better than my French - he said it was a 1980, but it had chrome..er..I mean gold plated chrome bumpers. The color scheme was hideous, but it was well executed the metallic paint was really done well. Anyhow, I thought you would get a kick out of the car from Norbit. On the side of the door, "Driver: Eddie Murphy"
Lousy cell phone camera

I'm not sure if it is the one on ebay referenced in that thread. This car had the same colors and all, but the metal flake seemed more subdued. Still gaudy, but in a subdued sort of way.
Yikes, bought by a French guy. And he hasn't scraped off the gold crap yet? I'd have my razor blade out so fast . . . Too bad it's in NYC where it will get worn out real fast by the weather, the potholes, you name it. Maybe that's a good thing?
lol, that is hilarious for one of us to actually see that thing after being up for sale so long.
I was just in NYC a couple weeks ago... I miss it. :(
I think the only thing scarier then the original would be somebody making a clone. :(

So...would that be a "spurious Norbit"?!
"So...would that be a "spurious Norbit"?!"
I believe that spurious Norbit is a double negative :)
