Hi All,

What does the spring and plunger do that goes into the side by the shift lever?

Cheers,
Larry

It is supposed to reduce the rattle/noise.

Remember that the three cap screws holding the top plate down are special shouldered units and the washers are spring type. Don't lose them.

Hi Jack,

I replaced the nylon bushing already but I still have a vibration in the shif lever so I ordered the spring and plunger, I took the lever back out but I could not get at the bolt that holds the plunger in. There are two bolts one on either side but I did not think that that was the correct one. I though I wold have to get at it from the underside of the car. Is that right oris it the right hand bolt?

Hi Larry,

Did it a couple of months ago. You can do it from inside the car. No need to go from the underside. It is a hassle though.......
