I have been looking for an original Britax-Weathershield UK made sunroof since last year but the ones that I found were either too expensive (over $1,000.00) or used, or non-original (e.g., Sliding Ragtops here in the US).

Last month, I found a guy in Austria with a stash of NOS Britax/Weathershield sunroofs kits for sale for a really good price (if you want to buy one, please PM me and I will give you his e-mail).

The only problem with his stash........all the roofs are brown(see picture).

My original plans were to paint the GT Black with a cream interior. Now with a Brown sunroof, black is not going to work. The boss (wife) says old english white exterior. I like Golden Beige Metallic (both original MG colors).

What do you guys think?

Why don't you just dye the roof black, it is, after all, only material. Check around upholstery shops and ask them if it is possible.

That's an option I rather pass on as I am not a fan of dyes.

If I really need to change colors, I rather invest a few $ more and have the the exterior material changed to black.

What's wrong with black and brown? That might look great with a cream interior.

OEW.

IMHO metallic isn't in keeping with the character of the car.

I guess that would work, but I need to find someone that is really good with photshop and see what the vehicle would look like with Black/Brown/Cream combination.

Dye the top and go with your original color choice or pay the big buck for a top the color of your choice.

Personally I'd dye it and if I didn't like that, have it recovered, but I wouldn't sway from the color that I want. Having said that, every ones car is their own to do with what they want. It sounds like this is going to be one of those decisions that you are going to agonize over. Best of luck

Yep, you hit right in the nail.

Having it recovered is not an issue as I know one of the best people in the business that recover it. Nonetheless, I still have a while to think about this and maybe I will have it recovered in black and paint the car black but in the meantime, I will just continue thinking about color combinations that would look good yet period correct.

Have to agree with the sentiment that you shouldn't change your mind about paint color due to the sunroof. Sounds like you chose the brown roof because it was a bargain, but not what you had in mind. Now you're going to make a huge decision about paint color due to this bargain purchase. If you had your mind set on black (not a favorite of mine for any car due to the heat and cleanliness/upkeep!), you should stay true to your original goal.

I didn't vote for either choice, however, OEW looks good on B's whereas metallic colors do not look good in my opinion. Metallic color on a B screams out that the car is not original or true to its beginnings. Nothing wrong with doing what you want to your own car, this is simply my opinion.

Not a fan of ANY metallic color on an MG. Of the two choices you've given, I vote for the OEW.
