I recently installed a LH Blue Label overdrive and after installation it would not engage. After spending the week driving to and from work with a four speed I decided to check the pressure and found no pressure. Pulled off the sump and checked the pump and noticed it was not going up and down as it is supposed to. a few light taps with a drift and it now works.
I took a drive and I now have a working overdrive. All is well with the world.
Oh yes and I installed my newly rebuild advance distributor. What a great day. Thanks Jeff!
Glenn

this is not that uncommon and should be checked before putting the transmission back in the car.
