Has anyone here had issues with buying wheels? I'm interested in buying some Superlites for my 1974 MGB, Hap at acmespeedracing hasn't returned my phone calls or emails. No reply from the email that I sent to Great British Cars either .. My concern with them is that they don't list a phone number on their website .. Has anyone does business with them? Is there any other place that might be more responsive ?

Thanks

Hap is a respected member of this site. I think I read somewhere he is on vacation.

Jury Duty is what I heard. Lets hope it's not a murder trial!

Yep! Hap's a good guy, but a "one man show" at work. He'll get back to you.

B..seein ya

Looks like Hap got caught up in a good one, maybe we'll get some good stories.

Maybe he's sitting on the jury of a car theft!

If the tires don't fit - you must acquit!

Stay the course with Hap, he will do whatever it takes. I hadn't heard he had jury duty but I do know that he can be a very busy man indeed. Stick it out, he'll contact you as soon as he gets the chance.

I second the motion on Hap. He's been very generous to those of us with less expenereince on this website. If you can, give him a chance to get back to you.

He's in Greenville, SC. Run a phone book search for Acme Speed Shop and call him up.

Spent half a day with Hap last week while the wife was having her car serviced and shopping at the mall. Hap is indeed a great guy and generous with his knowledge. Don't know about jury duty but do know he is better about answering the phone (versus e-mails). Give him a call at:
864-370-3000.

I do recall that Hap is on Jury Duty. He is a wealth of knowledge, and conversation! Have no fear that you have chosen the best direction, and that you will have the ultimate care. If you need Hap's phone number, just PM me and I will give it to you.

He has got to be tied up some how...he'll get back to you.

I had both phone and pm conversations with Hap. My wheels were all I hoped they would be and now are wrapped in rubber standing in a stack. Just go with Hap and don't look back. Keep in mind that for wheels he is my "competition" yet I ordered from him for my car.

Here's Hap's thread from last week about jury duty (he is serving this week.)

Be patient or try calling him after 6? He may be in the shop evenings trying to play catch-up!

Thank you ALL for your replies and filling me in on Hap's jury duty ... I'm a "new kid on the block" here and didn't know what to expect as far as a reply from him. I will wait out his jury duty .... and thanks again for all of your positive replies.

This is an example of how threads on this BBS that may not appear to have any interest or importance to an individual can actually be a learning experience.

Plus....it's a way of geting to know each other just a little better.

I encourage you all to explore "outside of the box" here on the MGE.

:)

Yep, I'm alive and well, just stuck on jury duty. Thanks for the kind words guys.
Steve, I returned your email about 7pm last night, you can order the wheels online from my website if you like, and I will process any orders in the evening, or I'll be back in the shop next week, possibly by the end of this week. As far as my phone number, my shop phone number is at the bottom of every page on my website.
Thanks, sorry for any inconvienence.
