Hey lads, my MGB has a push button type pump for the windscreen jets. I can't seem to find the bottle for the water, where is it? Also, how do i get at the pump mechanism itself? just in case it's now faulty.
It's a steel dash, RHD.

Jack, what year is your car, looks like a 69 70 to my untrained eye.
Surprised you've got the push pump. It's right there, behind the dash. The bottle is either on the flat surface opposite the brake/clutch assembly or it may be a bag hanging on the inside fender, not sure which side.
Put some info 'bout your car in your profile, makes it easier for people to respond.

ah yeah, it's a 70.
Cheers for that mate. Still trying to get to grips with this game. :)
If its a bottle, look on the radiator surround. Bag type would be on the inner wing above the wheel. ON a LHD car, this stuff is on the right side. Dunno about RHD.

The button should be held to the dash by a chromed bezel nut - it works like a squirt-gun. Not sure if there are any "user-serviceable" parts (but that's never stopped most of us!) The reservoir may (have) been a plastic bag. Maybe you can follow the hoses?
It's on the left hand side of the radiator -- look at the photo and you'll see the top of the bottle just aft of the radiator, on the lower left corner of the photo.
If the push pump is sucking air there's not much you can do with it. It's a sealed unit. I tried re-sealing mine around the edge with epoxy. That didn't work, so then I tried to soften the plastic with a soldering iron to reseal arond the edge of the crimp but that didn't work either.
The new one should be on it's way from Moss as we speak (type?).
Mine ('64) has a pathetic little squirt on the first pump or two, then nothing.
You can get those aftermarket electric pumps at NAPA or any other parts store - shouldn't take anything to wire, and you can hide the switch someplace.
