I'm putting new chrome wire wheels, with new hubs and bearing on my 69 b, and want to know if this is something I can do myself, whats involved? Or have it done?

Front hubs are relatively easy....just press in new bearing races, set the clearances on the bearings, and you are set to go.

Rear hubs on my 64 required a large press....take em to a machine shop...........remove old hub with axle is easy to do...see whatever manual you use......

Front hubs don't sound to hard, but the rear sounds like something else. So to do the rear bearing I would have to pull the axle, how hard is this?

Be sure you understand how to set the bearing end play!

There are two methods the "no shim" and the factory method.

If you plan to do the factory method understand it clearly before you start and have about .050 worth of shims for both sides.

Plan on 1/2 day for the first time doing the factory method if you are slow like me.

Front don"t sound to be to hard, the rear is something else. How hard a job is the rear axle bearing. And other question, How do you get the front shimes right? I want to make sure it"s right.

Again, check out John Twist's video on youtube regarding bearings and shims. he makes it clear as to the how and why. A little involved, but not too difficult. I think the hardest part for me was fishing the cotter pin out of the whire wheel hub. There is a hole to access it which might be filled with grease, yopu'll find it.
