NASCAR team owner Ray Evernham is promoting a new car show, "Racing For a Reason," to be held this Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10-11, inside the Concord, NC Cabarrus Arena on NC49. 11-9 Weds, 11-7 Thurs. All proceeds to charity.

The mid-week dates are due to this being Fall NASCAR race week in Charlotte.... and not wanting to conflict with the races Fri and Sat evenings.

Cars and bikes owned by NASCAR celebs and local entusiasts will be on display... We'll have at least 1 LBC there (a 69 Spridget "survivor").

Most of the area (Concord & Mooresville) race shops will have open houses all week, and the usual end of season souvenir sales. Especially interesting is the Penske shop on the northeast side of Mooresville... NASCAR, IndyCar and Porsche Endurance teams, all under one roof.

I'll have two there:
a 1969 (last year imported to the US) Sprite, original spec. except for paint (Jag Brooklands green)... right down to the skinny 165SR13's on stock steelies with hubcaps.
and our 1965 Falcon Ranchero parts chaser... a one repaint survivor that I was going to "resto-mod" with a Mustang 2 rack, 302 V8 and 9" rear, but it was just too nice to cut up, and is bone stock... 200ci 6cyl, 3 on the tree, limited slip, 5.60x13's on steelies with dog dish hubcaps... just like the day it was born... upholstery could use freshening, but otherwise original.

I really like the old stock stuff! It seems to me that the muscle stuff is way overrated and priced that way too.
