Today Judy and I participated in the second annual Rallye that starts at my mechanic's place and winds around the area stopping at little historical places in the area. It was a fabulous day, classic warm Fall day on the Maine coast. It was open to all sports cars and there was a good contingent of German iron as well. I have to advertize this secret some more next year for you guys in the area.

Some of the German Cars;

This one was nice;

They even provided security for the cars parked there;

A few from the road. One of the stops was to a village market where you were to ask them for the suprise. The surprise was a sandwhich and a drink. The next checkpoint was at a beach where we stopped to eat. We totally blew the allowed time for the break but we just wanted to enjoy the great day.

At one stop, we had to play one round of scrabble and get the best score you could. It was at a dockside restaurant in Docksquare of Kennebunkport.

The course ran along Ocean Ave past the Bush Estate at Walker's Point. The elder Bushes are very respected and well liked up here by the locals.

Miles of rolling hills and meadows and salt water farms;

Some of the cars were such a pleasure to drive behind. This 120 was a glorious unrestored car with old paint, cracked leather and battered knockoffs with most of the chrome worn off.

The end was at the HQ of the local Conservation trust which was the benficiary of the money raised. It was warm and sunny and the beer and wine was flowing along with the food.

One last picture of some of the great cars (and jeeps) that came along. The TR3 was another driver like the XK120;

We went right past the camground you guys stayed at. We also went out to the place were we all had the seafood.
Carl,
My wife and I grew up in Mass and we always loved the Maine coast. I was going to ask if you saw George and Barbara's place then I scrolled down and saw the photo. Boy, I wish I was up there at this time of year with my B. Florida's nice, but New England in October is even better! Look like you folks had a nice day out! Wish we were there!
Those pix and your description *almost* makes me want to take the "B" or one of the Healeys back for a fall visit to the *in-laws*...lol They live up in Sdgwick... on Eggemoggin reach.
