Has anyone ever (or ever thought) of having rear monoleafs made for their MGB?
I had a set made for a 1974 Dodge Charger once.
They were a little rougher than stock but stiffer and lighter.
Had and drove the car hard for 6 yrs and never had any problems.
Any experience? Concerns? Ideas?
Had them made at a place in Portland, Or. Forgot the name though.
Price was the same as catalog ones with the plus of dealing with a local company.

Michael.
Doug Jackson used to make fiberglass mono leaf springs for the MGB. I've got a set sitting in my shop waiting to be bolted to my MGB.
The springs require stiffer dampers as they are not self damping and don't handle axle wrap or sideways location as well as the standard leaves.
The good news is that if you have an application that already requires tube shocks, anti tramp bars and a Panhard bar the springs work great and are lighter than leaves.
There is a Parabolic spring set available out of the UK. This again could use stiffer dampers and reports are that the design softens the rear ride considerably.
Moss test fitted a set of these Parabolic springs to a 1973 MGB and the ride height was way too high, so they are currently not selling them. This is something that needs to be followed up though as they appear to be popular in the UK.
Feedback from those that are using them would be appreciated. Parabolics seem to be the cat's meow for early Series Land Rovers, you would think they would work well on B's too.

Well that's good news.
They exist.
The company I used was a custom spring maker. So you could request lower ride height.
I am very tempted now to find them and have them do my front and rear.
I have parabolics from MGOC on my 67 racecar. Very soft with more articulation than my Series 3 Landrover.
I love them.
