This is a cross topic question but others may find informative. Collecting parts for my V8 conversion. I just picked up a WW MGC rear end. Problem is I want to use bolt on rims. Now, I did a search on the topic and think I found the answer but just wanted to confirm I understand this correctly. As the WW axle is shorter in length between hubs, if I put bolt on hubs to the WW axle this will shorten by wheel base, but allow me to use a much wider rim and tire. Is this correct? I've got the Omni fenders already to flare the fender wells.
I apoligize in advance for infringing my V8 material into the original topic site. :)

Thanks, Brian

Not wheelbase (which is front to rear measurement) but track (side to side). it will make it shorter, move the wheels inward (opposite of what you'd need flares for).

With "much wider" you will likely run into interference on the inner fender panel and/or spring.

You could use spacers to push them back out but that might entail using longer studs. mid 80s F250 should work fine with a teeny bit of mod..

Thanks for the info Mac. The reason for switching to the bolt on's was to allow a more varied selection of rims. Figured I could find something offset that will fill out the wheel well and not rub either fender wall. Guess I need to go over to the V8 forum and ask those guys what their doing.

Brian, I did what you are talking about to cure a wrong wheel offset problem. Moves each wheel in about 3/4". I thought about doing it on mine to get bigger tires on also. There is a lot of room to spare on the inside. You will have to study on wheel offsets. I know the TRs run a rim offset to the outside much more than a B. I believe the bolt circle is the same though. You will have to do some careful measureing unless someone else has an exact answer. There is actually room for some wide tires under there if you can get them centered in the wheel opening. Good plan.

Brian,
That is what I did to use Keystone Mags from a 66 Mustang 6 cyl. The off set was just right with the ww rear and the bolt on hubs.
The fronts just clear the finders, but do sit out further.
