Run your car until you thing you have a quarter tank or less. Jack up right side of car and chock up. Remove rear wheel. At this point you can see the retaining ring that holds the sending unit in place. You will need to rotate the lockring to be able to remove it. Make sure the ign switch is off then unwire the sending unit. Yours probably has a single wire-newer car have two. Even later cars will have the fuel pickup to unhook as well. Use a hammer and screwdriver to rotate the lockring to remove. When ring is removed the sending unit will lift out. Install the new unit by reversing this procedure. I always put a bucket under the sending unit before I remove it just in case my estimate of whats left in the tank is wrong. Be sure you use a new gasket. I smear a bit of grease on my gasket just to be sure that it does not stick next time. Pretty simple

It must be replace you sending unit weekend. I am putting a new one in today but it will be easy since it is going into a new tank. 4 clogged fuel filter(because of rust) in one year. Maybe a little past due on the change, you would have thought the leaking tank would have clued me in too;)
