Where's the best place to source a rear rocker pedestal for a head from a 73b (casting 12H2923)? Is it ok to combine valve/rocker pedestals from later 18v (75 on) for the other pedestals?

Thanks

Do you need the offset oiling "foot" or not?

Inline oiling hole for the 2923 head, I remember this because I'm working with one right now. Hey guys you do know any MGB head can be a big intake valve head right, I know this may be the repalcment head that came your way, but you so often hear on here "the big valve head", when any of the MG heads can be converted to the 1.625" or even the 1.7" intake valves.

Hap, apart from grinding back the point of the 'heart' in the combustion chamber, is there any other modification/s needed to convert an earlier MGB head to a "Big Valve" head?

Thomas, there's not even that much to it, the 1.7 intake that British Part NW sells (others sell them I'm sure to) has a pretty flat margin, meaning it not as chucnky and thick as the stock valve, so even on height, there's not alot to it, I do alittle extra shrouding on the vlave for ultimate performance, but to be honest with you, you don't have to do it, and if you are going with OEM style 1.625" valve, then even less work is require, we're not talking a huge difference in the sizes of the valves, the bigger OEM valve, 1.625, is only aprox. .060" bigger than the standard valve, and the 1.7" actually measures 1.680", so it's .055" or bigger, there plenty enough room to make any of the bigger valves work in oany of the MGB heads.
