Why would anyone rebuild the engine, drive it 3,000 miles then let it sit outside to rot? ::o

No info, it just popped up on my craigslist. Seems like the engine, top, wheels, and completeness make it worth the price. from the picture background, kind of looks like there was a "collector" of stuff in the family:)

It says car is in Goldsboro. Last time I was there, the Air Force Base and two million square miles of tobacco were about all in the area. Coud have belonged to an airman who got deployed or transferred? If the rust is all that bad, it probably didn't happen in that area - too far from the coast, too far from snow for it to be salt issues with a local car. The hard top is worth nearly half the asking price from what I can see. If I were a couple of hours closer, I'd be checking on that.
