Need some input. As I prepare for one of my winter project's of rebuilding the seats on the B, I was wondering if anyone just left the headrests off after their seat rebuild? I think the headrest covers are an additional $140.00 I'm probably going to order a Prestige (leather) kit tonight. If anyone remembers a recent post where I inquired about Rolini Seat covers from Texas, never could get them to answer several emails or answer the (contact us) section of there website and there was no phone listing on there website. Man I tried pretty hard to do business with them. Thanks for any help.

if anyone runs into the back of your car you will be glad you have headrests for the rest of your life.

Do the head restraints.

If you have a couple of beers handy and some time I'll tell you about what it feels like to be sitting at a stoplight in a FIAT 600 and have an S-Class Benz whack you from behind at about fifty miles an hour without applying the brakes. No head restraints in FIATs back then.

I install them, but I believe that the high cost is for new head rests, not covers.

Be careful with the metal grommets used in the prestige covers for the headrest holes. They aren't nearly as good as the originals. I didn't notice until I had the first cover done and tried to install the headrest. The hole was too small. Trying to gently reshape the hole only tore the grommet out, which didn't have the metal backer plate like originals. My "work around" turned out OK.

Otherwise very happy with the quality and look of the covers. Good leathery smell too.

Someone I know still has neck issues from a rear end collision..........with headrest. They were improperly adjusted. They were too low and wiplash is a B&^**. I recently removed a roll bar just for saftey reasons. I didnt want to wear a helmet in my car, haha. Mikek

The head rests prevent permanent disability to the driver and passenger in the event of collision from the rear. Mandatory for sane folks. Otherwise, fill out your organ donor card neatly and hope you dont just wind up paralyzed when the accident happens.

Big trick I found was installing new foam into the cover. I squeezed the new foam piece down with lotsa windings of twine and then was able to plop it into place. Then I cut the strings and removed them one at a time. The foam filled up the space tightly.

Might even try a plastic bag and a vacuum cleaner to suck them down then just leave the bag in there, unless it would`nt let out moisture and cause the inner steel workings to rust away.

Not to beat a dead horse, but here's another vote for headrests. We were rearended in my wife's car about 6 or 7 years ago, and she still has problems from it.

I installed '69 seats in my GT to get headrests so she and I are more comfortable with the car.

This thread reminded me of another thing to watch for...
The Moss covers I installed had the headrest grommet hole marked with chalk and I cut along the chalk line. After installing the covers, I realized the marks were either crooked or the cover wracked a bit during installation. The grommet appears slightly diagonal without the headrest in. Once the headrest is in, it's not noticiable, but like so many other little things... I know.
