Call me crazy, but I guess I don't need some singer/scientist and some billionaire's trophy-wife/scientist to tell me how many squares of toilet paper I need.
Really, who do these people think they are?
Sweet.
Sheryl also allows her songs to be used for selling Subarus.
How much TP do you need to save to balance out the sale of thousands of cars?
I think this is a bit, erm, tongue in cheek. I'll get my coat.
If this is all she has to talk about, her career must be in the crapper :)
Sheryl is from a very small town in Southeast Missouri, about 60 miles from me where they don't use toilet paper. They use wads of cotton they gather beside the road that have blown off trailers on their way to the gin.
I would like to counter her proposal by offering her some cameo toilet paper. That should keep her busy and quiet for a while.

That's what I also thought, after reading the whole thing. Dining sleeve clothes line? Sounds like something from Red Green.
Maybe someone can 'splain to me how this is supposed to reduce global warming?

Don't confuse the issue with facts, Wray. The mere fact that she said it would help should be good enough reason to follow her lead
Okay, Wray, here goes. The whole spiel was a farce - just a joke to get people doing what she wants, exactly what we're doing. TALKING ABOUT IT! One square, detachable sleeves to wipe your mouth - gimme break, tell me you knew better!
South of the Mason Dixon, we just recycle our old phone books. ;)
Maybe this was a hint:
"Laurie David's husband, Seinfeld creator Larry David, also appeared."

Sorry Jack, but I doubt she intended to get people started talking about what goofy ideas she and her pals keep coming up with. Diapers on cows anyone..... If, and let me emphisize if, global warming is actually cause primairly by man's activities, I think we need larger brains than Sheryl Crow & Laurie David working on solution. All they are doing is using their celebrity status to preach their beliefs on college campuses. It is their right to do so and I applaud them for following their convictions. At least they used a bio-diesel driven bus, instead of a personal 747 justified with carbon off-set credits.
Well...they do look like they were kidding around, don't they?

Jay, you mean like El Presidente?

I don't get the connection Jack. The President is the chief executive of our country and travels the country aboard Air Force One, same as his predecessors did from both parties, and as either Al Gore or John Kerry would have done if elected.
Al Gore flies around in a chartered 747 as a private citizen, advancing his personal agenda of global warming. But to use his own term, he creates an enormous "carbon footprint" all the while exhorting us to reduce our cabron footprint. He justifies his carbon footprint by purchasing, from himself (a trust he controls), carbon credits as set-offs. Again, its his right to do so and I applaud his conviction. I just find him a bit hypocritical.
As far as Carl Rove goes, I'm no fan of his, but if you actually read that article, the witnesses they interviewed said David "agressively" got in his face and started jabbing fingers at him. Maybe they caught him using too much toilet paper. Maybe he decided Crow didn't use enough.

You're absolutely right, Jay. Someone needs to develop a nuke-powered passenger train. It would be relatively simple - nuke plants are already used in ships, why not trains? Too many VIPs running by the adage that RHIP.
I don't know about nuke trains Jack, they seem to come off the tracks too often. But I do think nuclear power can be safely generated, and the electricity could power high speed trains as in Japan and Europe. Problem as I see it is nuclear power plants are very expensive and disposal of spent fuel rods is problematic.
Jack, sorry, these people are too dumb to pull off satire like that. You know that. If they actually did do something like that as satire they would be excoriated and cast out of Eden by their peers.
I think the connection they are trying to make is that paper requires trees to be cut down which leads to warming, etc. An uneducated point of view.
If Ms. Crow would really like to make a difference......QUIT TOURING.
Thing of all the fossil fuels burned to take a concert on the road. Planes, trucks, buses, electricity and all the folks that get in their cars and drive to see her.
Well if I remember right she was on an episode of Overhaulin' where she paid Chip Foose to build Lance Armstrong an old GTO convertible. If I remember right it was running a big block that last time I checked was'nt exactly the most "Evergreen" vehicle on the planet.
Maybe she tried getting Lance to do the "1 square 1 sitting" deal & thats why went shopping elsewhere...:)
