It's been too long since the last time I had restored a "B". After I installed my shift lever it is pretty tight when shifting it. I can't quite remember the trick. Can anyone help?
Thanks, Donnie

Yes I did! VB catalog shows "washer" are they special or just a lock washer of some type?

They are a flat coiled spring washer. When you use them with the shoulder bolts (so you can't over tighten), they keep the retainer plate tight. Make sure you have the special bolts and washers (3 ea) and it will work perfect.

The retainer plate has a bit of "wiggle-room" Make sure the shifter moves freely as you're tightening the shoulder bolts down...
