I'll be buying tires for the Magnette soon, and want to see how different choices actually look installed. If you know the brand and where you bought them - even better. So, let's see what you've got!

OOoooh! Some of them fancy assymetrical road/race tires.

This one is a Vredestein Sprint Classic 155R15 available from Universal Tire.

And it even got used last week. Had a flat while parked at home, so had to swap this one on while repairing the flat. The tube had perished around the valve. Lucky it didn't happen while driving!

Ed, I got Kumhos at the local tire store. They do well as far as I'm concerned. I seem to remember that they didn't cost a fortune; the whole set was around $200 or so.

Ed,
Mine are Kumho's - came from same store as Wray's, but are larger (195/65-15) to fit on the TR6 rims. $65 each mounted, balanced and installed.

Too bad you're not local. When I fit my TR6 rims I'll be ditching the old (new) tires. They're Metric 165R15s. 7 years old and virtually no miles on them. Too bad they're tucked away in storage, inaccessible.

Where are all the whitewalls? :)

The tires that are currently on my car are 165R-15 B.F. Goodrich Silvertowns with a 7/8" white wall from Coker tire. Previous set was 5.60-15 Firestone Bias Plies also from Coker. The bias plies were fun and made the car very light and nimble feeling and quiet. The radials stiffen up the steering a bit (not obtrusive), are far better handling in the wet and fill the wells out a bit more. On the car I am currently restoring I have had the 5 wheels re-rimmed by Stockton Wheel to 5" with the "Safety lip" for modern tubeless tires and will also be running the BFGs with 7/8" whites and trim rings just like on my car.

I miss chirping the tires and hearing them protest in the corners like I was able to accomplish with the cross-plies though!

And on 5.60-15 cross plies

Really nice Steve, I wish some Silvertowns were in the budget!
