My starter cable broke and I order a new one from moss motors. First it's way too long and second it's very difficult to access in order to tie the knob on wood dashboard. Does anyone know if I need to remove the dashboard to tie the whole system to the dashboard?

Gabrial - You should be able to pull the remains of your broke inner cable out and thread the new inner cable into the original housing and then cut it to length.
Cheers,

Thanks, I finally got it to work. I had to remove the heating and fan knobs in order to access the starter knob and replace. I did have to cut the housing a portion of the cable.
Thanks.
