I have been working on the front suspension rebuild on my 61 A, and finally got the drivers side front assembled. When I hooked up the tie rod I noticed a small amount of play in the Tie Rod (not the tie rod end). It appears to move in and out of the rack about a 1/16"-1/8". Is this amount of play normal or am I looking at a worn out ball housing or worse? I don't remember my last A haveing any play in the tie rods but it's been 20 years since then and my memory is not what it used to be (it's hard to remember what I had for dinner last night). Your expertice on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Norm
P.S. It is the same on the pass side but maybe a litle less play 1/32" to 1/16". I haven't pull out my dial indicator yet to get an exact amount of play, so, if a little play is allowable what would the amount of play be?
