Even though I am going to go with DOT 5 fluid, is there anyone out there who's master cylinder has NOT leaked with the brake pressure failure switch installed?
I'm debating the practicality of it, and thinking of plugging mine with a brass plug, even though-now-that both of them are brand new, the cyl. and the switch.

Your vote: plug it or run it.

I rebuilt my Master Cylinder about 2 months ago and I haven't experienced any leakage from the area of my brake failure switch. I'm currently using DOT4 in my Master Cylinder.

Landon,
I rebuilt my break failure switch with the Moss kit, and installed a rebuilt master 3 years ago. No leaks.

No leaks here either. Same Moss kit 3 years ago.

Rebuilt both brake M/C and switch 14,000 miles ago. Working perfectly every day.

There is an O-ring in the brake pressure switch that hardens with time. If you change it then I am willing to bet that your leak will be gone.

Mine leaked when I put the car back on the road (after 19 years of sitting). Popped a new O-ring in and no problems whatsoever. Moss sells the O-ring - but I think it is a fairly standard size.
