I had some old tires I was selling and was checking out the DOT code to see how old they are. They had a code of VXA097< which indicates from my reading that they were made the 9th week of 1997. I installed new Sumitomo HTR T4 P175/70R14 tires(made in China) e/w racing tubes from Hendrix tire two years ago. I have had no trouble with the tires but I was checking out the DOT code on the tires and it reads "DOT OTHR" with no numbers. Now I'm curious why these tires do not show a number like DOT 0110 which would indicate manufacture of 1st week of 2010.
