Shaun

Here are a few more pics of the roof, it is not a Britax as I said earlier but a Weathershield Ltd roof.

This project is rapidly moving up my list.

Does anyone have any info or experience regarding this style? Any availability in the States? I'm not concerned with originality with my current GT, so any manufacturer would work.

But Robert, the sunroof would mess up your Union Jack!

Thank you Devon, that's beautiful. How much do you enjoy the sunroof? Are there any problems or concerns associated with it? Tally ho!

Robert, before I found and bought the NOS Webasto Tudor sunroof off of evilBay recently, I was looking at a new Wabasto Hollandia sunroof to install in the GT. It's available but it may be too large for the MGB GT roof to accomodate. Gerry Masterman took some measurements for me and I think this new folding roof is too big. I know there are other brands out there that may or may not work. Do some Google searches. I didn't get that far into my research for the Hollandia roof since I found and bought a NOS unit sized for the GT. Here's a link to their website if you want to check it out.

Very nice, what a brave fella you are to cut the hole in the roof. :) I have a friend with one of the little woody Morris Minors and he was working one of those in his recently.

Michelle, I'm going to have the sunroof professionally installed by one of the local Webasto dealers in the DFW area since it didn't come with instructions. I probably won't even be there when they make the first cut! And yes, like Steve, one has to be brave to cut a giant hole in his/her GT roof. But just look what you come out with! :D

Isn't the Weathershield still available through the national chains that do sunroofs, tinting & such things?

Hi

I seem to be getting credit where it is not due, I did not fit the sunroof it was already fitted when I got the car.

I do recall seeing a post here several months ago, where a board member did cut his roof & install a roof like mine.

FTD in an MGB

I did it to my boss' GT 2 years ago. Unfortunately he has since sold the car, so I can't take measurements. But I can tell you that we just positioned it in the most logical place. They were dealer-installed anyway, so the positioning is arbitrary.
