Kudos to Haggerty's!
I called today to change the insurence on the B to "modified" from stock. This was after I completed the supercharger installation. I expected to pay $165 MORE per year for insurance. Well the news is, that less than a 50 horsepower increase still counts as stock! Moss Motors dyno sheet says the increase is 44 HP.

I feel like a winner...........................

Others say they had to pay more with Hagerty after adding it. Seems like Hagerty needs to be consistent on this.

Wait a minute, what happened to supercharged stock engines having better-than-stock-215 power?

Well it would seem they don't go by thier own terminology. That's fine by me. But really, it's either stock or it's modified. Niether of mine are stock. The question on the app bothered me a bit. As far as the 50 hp limit...who's to say??? So my car gets wrecked, are they going to pull the drivetrain & put it on a dyno? I seriously doubt it. As a matter of fact, when the TR8 got rearended, they settled the claim and no one even opened the hood.

My take is as long as it's a factory installed engine, everthing should be OK. Now if you got an LS1 Corvette motor in it and you wrap it around a tree...it could get questioned.

These are only my opinions not anything from Haggerty. I'm adopting a don't ask don't tell policy.:I3:

They don't go by it until you have a claim, the rules change when that happens.

I didn't have a problem. Maybe just lucky:)
