Military retirement maxes out at 75%.

There are actually three plans, prior to 1980, at 20 years, you got a straight 50%, between '80 and some other year after I joined, at 20 years, you get 50% of the average of the three previous years, now, it's 40%.

After 20 years, every year there after is 2.5% more, hence my 56%. I did four months shy of 23 years.

Also, it's what we signed on for, at 18, you have a limited understanding of the retirement offerings, as you only plan to do 4-6 years at a time.
