I'm not posting this as a sales ad...just as info. A local dealer in town has just taken a very clean, undamaged, unrusted 80 TR-7 in on trade. Has been offered to me wholesale..if anyone is interested I can cruise by and take a few pics of it. My wife asked if it would be something that she could drive back and forth to work(about 50 miles r/t daily) I told her sure, as long as she wore a mask and moved out:)...no offense to Triumph lovers.

Had a guy here in town offer me one. Said it's kind of rough cosmetically, but no rust, and in good mechanical shape. I haven't looked at it and honestly don't know if it's still available, but I'd look at it if anyone's interested.
You need t think your wife's idea over a little. A high mileage car for cheap? That's hard to find and I wouldn't care what it was or what color if I could use it.
i was intrested in a tr7 once until i looked in the moss cat.
no real spares volume !
TR7s are not worth much, nowhere what the calculations the "books" use
the efi cars with 5 speeds are better than earlier...I don't think this is one of those, but it might be.
he gave $50 for it. Net after deducting part of the pack on the unit he sold.
at an auction he'd get no action and he knows/suspects it. research it a bit.
ask him what he allowed on trade, offer him half CASH (no more than $200-300) and show up with a trailer.
Hey Jack...I may be interested, I'll send you a PM...
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know...but I had a FI '81 and had a lot of fun with it...
I grabbed my camera and will post a few pics, hopefully later today. The car runs and handles real nive, even has the big red triumph emblem painted on the hood. Can find one area of repair on the vehicle.
