Tail light base bulb holders

Can anyone tell me the correct way to remove the socket (bulb holder) from the tail light base. I am converting to the older style tail lights and need to remove the sockets from my newer style to put into the older style base.

Got it figured out. The socket has tangs that have to be bent up. Now if I can just bend them back down tightly.
