Glossary of definitions:
despotism - a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)
tyranny - the government or rule of a single person (dictator) or absolute ruler.
spectrum - a broad range of varied but related ideas or objects, the individual features of which tend to overlap so as to form a continuous series or sequence
federalist papers - a series of 85 articles advocating the approval of the United States constitution (1780's).
oligarchy - a form of government where political power effectively rests with a small elite segment of society distinguished by royalty, wealth, family, military powers, etc. The word "oligarchy" is from the Greek words for "few" and "rule". .

No need to apologise - I found it interesting, albeit overly simplistic.

Boy, was I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

Are we THAT stupid?



If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the country including every elected representative in Washington , D.C. - five times a week for as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.

Thank you for posting this. Those of us who had a non-politically correct education learned this in what was then known as "Civics" class. It's true that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

;) Obviously we need to get rid of the Democratic party and become a one party system! LOL!

Seriously though, the video reminded me of a somewhat heated discussion I had with my father in law about 10 years ago, he a lifelong Republican, and me a lifelong liberal.

I don't remember the exact issue we were discussing, because it was unimportant in contrast to the essense of our discussion. The essense was his insistance that Americans should be able to vote to change the constitution if they should decide they don't like something in it. I tried to explain to him that we need the constitution intact, and these rights shouldn't be able to be modified according to current popular whim. He got particularly pissed off when I insisted that, given the opportunity, people would vote away their rights....rights that have been hard won.

Ok, granted, I'm a very bad liberal ;) and he was a very misinformed Republican. It's too bad the very ideas we should have agreed about became an argument that day.

The video has some very important truths in it, but is very simplistic, and thinly veiled propaganda. I'll keep the good and reject the garbage.

The Governor has cut the work week of most of the State government and put them on three days a month without pay. It is a 9% cut in pay. We will see not ill effect in services and will learn to live which day not to go to the DMV.

The employees will live with the cut in wages. The retribution by the Public Union will be to pressure their members to cut back on efficiency and punish the citizens and force the Governor to put them back on full employment.

My fix would be to cut the workforce across the board by 20% and have them work a full week. If there is any performance issues with an employee lay them off and hire back a laid off employee. The message will get out very quickly.

I shows clearly what he problem is. We will however continue to pay all the benefits of excess employees who have almost super seniority and can't be laid off.

We will continue to accept these inconveniences because of a broken system all the while we spend the billions of dollars on illegal immigrants in the State. As these people move out our crumbling State it will start to drag down other States.

The new children's health care bill signed into law even increases the medical care or illegal immigrants.

We are in a downward spiral of public waste of money that might not be stopped by any rationale person or politician. It just keeps feeding on itself.

Steve, the Iraq war money argument was just made moot by the bailout and stimulus money. The war is fought with pure debt and borrowing. When the war is over it ceases to exist. The problem with a part of the stimulus it goes on forever and never gets paid back.

If you use debt to create an entitlement you should be put in prison for grand theft. That is why they said they were going to pay for the new $32 billion children's with cigarette tax money even thought they know full well those funds are dropping every year.
