My bus tour group thinks that I am completely nuts. Yesterday coming into Killarney I noticed a Rover/MG dealer but by the time I got my camera out we were past it. Then today we went for a cool drive around the Dingle Peninsula (oh to have ITCH on these roads) and we were coming past that same dealership again, but a tree was in the way.

So I got to to hotel, hired a cab and went back to shoot some pics for y'all. Where else are you likely to see an almost brand new dealership with an shiny Octagon on the masthead. This was too cool! Unfortunately the only MG on the lot was a yellow MG ZR (rice-rocket looking egg) with no resemblance to our classic lines.

Nevertheless, the marque flies high over Ireland.

And here is the ZR for your 'enjoyment?'

FYI That would be (from the licence plate) a 2004, registered in the county of Kerry as the 1950th vehicle that year. The plates stay with the car for its entire life and you can tell its year of registration and county from the plate.

As long as you're prying the MG sign off the building..... would you mind grabbing the Rover sign as well?? For me?? It would look right nice with the Original rover sign I have from the early 60's........
thanx

A bunch of us tried to figure out how to get the big MG sign on to the bus when we were there two years ago, on Jeff and Jan Zorn's Celtic trip.

Looks like there's some sort of CB GT on the floor. What's the story with that car?

We never could find out, no one was around. It was kinda lonely looking.

So much for thinking I was first to post these pics on MGE! Today we do the "Ring", or at least part of it but alas the morning clouds are currently obscuring the mountain coast. Let's hope the fog burns off quickly.

Let us know what you think of the top of the ring, where the wind blows up the mountain. Wild place.

Ahh, now yer talkin' o' things I dearly love....I first went to Ireland in '93, and have been back five times since. I could happily retire there, if I were ever able to retire!!!
I hope your tour is taking you through the Burren and out to the Cliffs of Mohr. Probably the single most spectacular view I've seen in my life!!!

Last time I drove through Tijuana, Mexico...I saw an MG Dealership.

Unreal.

Ken
We saw the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren, and did the Dingle Peninsula. Unfortunately, to my disappointment today, we did not drive the Ring of Kerry around the coast. But then considering the day was pretty much socked in anyway we would not have seen much so I guess I am going to have to come back to see it another time.
