I am in need of four new tires for my '69 MGB. I have been told that you no longer can get 165 R1484S tubeless any more. It was suggested I switch to 175 R14. Any thoughts. Does anyone still make them or what do you run on yours? Tks!!!

Bob, are you searching for the period correct "look" or something that has a little more bite?
I'm running 185/70/14 on my wires. '73 MGB rdstr.

Vrederstein still produces non profiled tires. I use there Sprint + Classics 175R14 (88T) on my 67B. They also provide 165HR14 Classic (84H)

I guess I will go with the 175 R14's as that is one they can get locally.

Same on my '72 GT with no regrets. My car came with roller skates, 175/60's; it was practically on the ground 8-). After going to 185/70's the ride height's about to spec (13.5 - 14" ), and my choice of Pirelli P4's was a great call >:D<.
I read about this size causing too much sidewall flex and squirrily handling, but I've dialed the car in for touring not auto x'ing, and the ride and braking are SUPERB and it feels like on rails in curves. Steering's heavier but who cares - exercise is good haha.
PS they were cheaper than some of those questionable Chinese tires

Available sizes
Most people use 175/70R14 or 185/70R14's for the MGB. I installed Sumitomo HTR T4 P175/70R14 e/w racing tubes.(smaller so an old guy can turn the car easily). The larger tire will take a little more effort to turn but looks better I think.
Thanks, Guys. Looks like I am going to do the 175 R14 88's. I can get them locally much cheaper than trying to go back to 165 R14's.
