72-Midget

Hi,

Just a quick question. My 72' came with a tonneau cover that is in great condition! However, I am having problems with it comming un-bolted while I am driving. Should I have some sort of tonneau bar for the 72'?

I am open to any ideas or suggestions!

Jake, I didn't have any type of bar on my '73 and have never seen one for those models. Where are you having trouble with the cover coming loose? Mine liked to come loose at the dash fastener near the center and then drop down in the way. I never found a solution, fitted a roll bar and quit using the tonneau, but I know I'll probably have the same problem with the tonneau on my MGA project and think I'll try replacing the lift the dot fastener with a Tennax type and see if that helps. The only other thing I can think of is one of those fasteners like my old Jeep used, it had an oval shapped hole in the fabric and a male fastener that twisted 90 degrees and locked the fabric in place. Most good upholstery shops should have some of these type fasteners and be able to fit them to your tonneau. Don't know about finding the correct male pieces to match the body mounts though.
