I believe the tranny leaks from every place possible even the drain and fill plugs.

Going to do that right now im eliminating which seals need it. First teflon tape on th fill and drain plugs.

It's amazing how much can leak out of the transmission if the oil seal for the speedo cable fails. On my 66 and 73, oil would be pouring out till I tracked those down.

Good call on hunting it down first, since the gaskets seldom seem to leak unless disturbed. There are only two seals, but more orifices. Could it be the rear main of the engine?

Not losing engine oil only drip on the tranny drain plug. Letting it sit right now after wipe down and cleaning

Guess what after cleanup and sitting still for 5 hours there was oil on the floor and a drip forming on the tranny drain plug.
I bet the fill plug drips too after driving for a while. Plugs are in very tight. Are both plugs the same thread. Wondering if dpo swapped them.
More investigation to follow.

Mine used to leak from the drain plug too. Permatex thread sealer did the trick for me.
Oh yeah, I call it a transmission, if you google "tranny" you'll see why! :)
