OK here we go...
It's starting to look like a real car!
Taken today. I'm too lazy to push the car into the driveway. :)

Rick's awesome strut kit installed:

Still need some parts:

I remember when mine got to that stage, really feels good, keeps you going... It's looking great Scott, keep posting pics.
Thanks.
By the way, the VB bumpers I got last year are CRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP. Do not buy them. I should have looked them over when I got them instead of stuffing them under the bed. Scratches galore, bad plating, white crap on the ends. Gah.
If I hadn't gone from 'do it right' to 'money is a problem' I would buy different bumpers.

Yeah.... X2.... what color is it?
Eveything is looking Grrrrrreaaat! Keep the pix's comming!!!!!!
Bumpers look nice from this point of view!
Car looks great!
It's Bracken, a muddy orange from 73-74.
Jack's car is the same color.
Thanks for all the compliments guys.
John,
Haven't started on the engine yet.
The engine is a 67 and the transmission is an early overdrive.
Actually building is so bloody gratifying. The color is superb. enjoy the reasons for putting tape on the car every time you want to mount something...its a hoot!
I tip my Strawberry wheat in your honor.!
Great job.
Landon
Looks wonderful.
You're at the best part of any restoration. That right there is the part I have always loved the most. The tinkering part putting on all the shiny bits and pieces. Taking your time lining everything up. Savour this part, because it will NEVER ever look this good again!
I really like that color, and I didn't think I'd ever say that about that color.
Looks great!
Part of the deal was that I let SWMBO pick the color.
I was ... reticent, to put it lightly... when she picked bracken, but the color has really grown on me.
Also I think it's a good idea to paint little cars bright or light colors, all the better to grab the attention of the distracted, cellphone talking soccer mom in her 3 ton SUV.
About the VB bumpers: If they're anything like the VB overriders, they really are crap. You'll be seeing rust dots in a year or so at the outside. You can guess how I learned that little lesson....
I really like those early tail lights on the '73, though. They definitely have more class than the OE ones for the year.
Next thing you know, it's gonna be Show Time!
Looks great!
While you're at this stage consider installing an air horn (if you haven't already done so)to grab the attention of that distracted, cellphone talking soccer mom in her 3 ton SUV. It even has some effect on the aged and extremely ignorant.
Now that you have new paint these folks will be attracted to your bodywork. It helps have some decibels in the horn button.
For what it's worth...
Your ahead of me big guy! I'm still working my way out of the engine compartment. Looks great - love the color too!

Thanks. Not quite ahead of you, there's nothing in the engine bay or the interior. Can you email me a hi-res picture of that first pic there? I want to use it for wiring path reference.

Thanks, and I really dig your color too, that was MY first choice but I got overrules by 'she who wields the checkbook'.
Looks like you've got about the same amount of room in your garage as I do ;)
Wow Scott - it really is beautiful. It looks so much like the new 74 I owned that it almost makes me cry. Maybe I will. :(
Really - its just beautiful...
Looks great Scot. When I started looking for our B it was going to be brg. We got a 74 -
Bracken. I would have bet money against that color...now it is, of course, my favorite on a B.
Paul
Which man. did you get the paint from? I had one body shop try to match for touch up stuff and they did a terrible job.
Paul,
I used Limco paint (made by R-M) mixed from catalog formula by a local paint store (Parks). I used SSU and color sanded and then cleared with Limco 3 clear.
Thanks Scott. I will see if I can find that paint around here. Bracken looks so good going down the road, on a sunny day it is absolutely beautiful!! When we get to repainting it will be Bracken again no question about it.
Paul
I can dig up the crossover codes if you want me to, but it was in every shop's books. Also no one could mix me a BC/CC.
Hi Scotty,
I'm very taken with the paint work on your B. Great work!
That color is the original (or close) on my '71 Roadster.
Would you mind emailing me a couple of photos with greater resolution? I'd like to keep them on file for an eventual repaint.
Thanks.

You should have put some colour on that primer, not just clear!
