I managed to find a guy here who's fixed up my cable for the new speedo I bought last week. Only cost me 30 bucks to get a new end on the cable and shortened by 4". For some reason, this Smith's speedo doesn't use the common threaded nut but rather a "slip-on" connector know as a "trigger cable fitting". Yeah, I had no idea what that was either.

If anyone needs speedo cable repairs in Vancouver or some calibration work done, I can pass along his name and number.

Now to get the gauges in the car.

Simon,

Great... I wouldn't mind having that number.

Thanks

Hi Simon,
I have a "Commer" van that needs a new inner speedo cable. In april 2008 you wrote that you had found a fellow in Van. who repaired your cable. Could you send me his contact info if possible.
thanks,
