Is it worth the money to uprate the shock valve when renewing the front shocks for street use? I plan to lower the car, add poly bushings later in life.

NO, not unless you really want to knock a few fillings loose.
I got the regular, rebuilt shocks from Peter at World Wide, and lowered my B, and put the poly bushings in, and got rebuilt swivel/kingpin assy's from Moss. Plenty stiff! Corners waaaaay better than before and maybe a little on the stiff/bumpy side but I happen to like it that way, feels like a sports car should, I think. Nothing mushy about it.

I installed in Ole Red ('71 roadster).
Enjoy them on the roadster cause it gets tossed about abit.
Didn't and won't install them on the GT.
Also didn't and wouldn't lower either. Roads around here are
not in the best of shape and my bones have lost resilience thru
the years and dental work as become too expensive.
I think that sometimes we are a little to quick to call some modifications an "upgrade". A lot of time and money went into designing these LBC and we come along and think that just because there are modifications available for us to make that they constitute an "upgrade".
I like them, my car has stock springs with poly bushings and 3/4 swaybar. Never did like the way the stock setup leans while cornering and tends to wallow over bumps. Don't find the ride jarring at all, on rough roads. Still have the original shocks on my 73, just replaced the valves. Tim
