I'm actively looking for a 3.4L Chevy V-6 and a Camaro/Firebird V-8 5-speed (for a CB car). This seems to be the combo of choice around here (for V-6's).
Question is: If I get a V-6 from a stick shift car will the V-8 tranny bolt to it or do I need the bell housing from the V-8? I remember the old small-block Chevy's where everything bolted up to everything!!

Tom,
For your combination, purchase a V6 bell housing for the same year as the V8 T5 you use.
-BMC.
OK: Found a 94 and 95 Camaro/Firebird 3.4L V-6 in an auto salvage place. Both are still in the car.
Questions: Should I get everything from the electrics? Computer, etc, or are these aftermarket? Don't know if the computer was located inside the car or not. If it is, is there an aftermarket wire harness available. I assume I can't get ALL the wiring.
Is the bell housing part of the tranny or a separate unit? My days are from Chevy small blocks where everything bolts up to everything else. When I look for a V-8 5-speed will any or all of them fit the 94 - 95 bell housing?
Whaaaaaaa else do I need to know????????
Thanks a lot.
Tom
