I modified a s-10 intake by cutting out the middle and making an adaptor plate.
Thanks Jim, Thats sweet, I Work in a machine shop so i think do that to a two barrel,BTY, what do you use for carb? Thanks, Scott
Scott, I used Jim's system also. It is lower than any aftermarket manifold I've seen Bill Guzman has a special top for the Edelbrock, but I don't know the final height. That one Jim shows is pretty low. He used a two barrel Holley 350 CFM carb. A fellow that posts on here Robert Bard has the car now. He could verify how it runs.

I just had the same thing done as Jim, but I also had the gasket flange milled down so that the carb will sit level. Notice that the stock 2.8 flange is tilted foward. I'm planning on using a Holley 2 barrel.
hi Jim, thanks for pics. is that adapter plate tig welded to mani? Also will any 2.8 two barrel carb mani. fit my 1988 2.8 or which mani do you recommend i use? I see a big W2 on yours, Is this the one i should look for? Thanks again Jim and MG friends for any help you might have on this ! Scott
Scott, I think I had gotten mine off an 85 S10 Blazer. Jim's off an 84 They are the same. Your looking for the manifold just prior to the introduction of the throttle body injection. I took a walk thru the pull a part yard. I think the cost was about $25 or so. I made the adapter plate out of a piece of 3/8" aluminum with hand tools and fastened it with countersunk ccrews to the manifold. I was trying to keep everything as low as possible, as I didn't want a scoop on the car.
John
I counter sunk and mounted the adaptor plate with tabored screws and use 3m glue. The carb. is a Holley circle track quick responce 350 2 brl.$227 at summit. Here are some pics of the carb. and engine installed.
If you take notice to the picture,I also mounted the carb. sideways so all the stock cables would fit properly, car runs good and has plenty of power, good luck.
