Good morning all-
I'm interested in purchasing a set of MGA twin-cam replica wheels 15 x 5.5 with dummy center spline and eared knock-off which will fit my wire wheel MGA. Must be clean and unabused; no curb rash or racing rejects. Will consider less than a full set.
thanks, lee b.

I've never even seen such an animal, are you sure anything like that even exists, much less in the condition you demand?
Rick-
good evening.
i recognize your name from your various postings and twin cam car listings on ebay.
your post hit the nail on the head.
please, please let me borrow one of your beat-up twin cam wheels to use as a sample to get some twin cam replica wheels machined up w/o peg drive. i can leave whatever reasonable deposit you require.
thanks,
lee b.
Ricky, I think you put me onto this source, but it wasnt exactly what I was looking for. For some (read lots) money, maybe they could do a one off set of what you are looking for Lee.

John-
thanks for the post.
i actually spoke with the u.k. vendor who was quite helpful and friendly. the only trouble is that they are very, very expensive and i think i can have a set made here for a lot less if i have a sample to copy.
is there a mg forum member out there somewhere from whom i can borrow a twin cam wheel (i will leave whatever reasonable deposit is required and pay freight both ways, as well as name my first grandchild after them).
thanks, lee b.
You can take a center hub from a old wire wheel, machine it and then weld it in to the steel wheel of your choice. A fellow I work with did that with a set of TR6 wheels on his early TVR, and it looks good in my opinion.

Scott-
thanks for the tip. i've already purchased the tr6 steel wheels from dick moritz at a very generously reduced price. the main problem with machining the wire wheel center hub is the upper and lower row of spoke holes.
do you happen to know the length of exposed splined shaft i should leave for threading up the eared knock-off.
can any member measure and let me know the length of the threaded protrusion on their original twin cam wheel (no double entendre intended).
thanks, lee b.
Lee, the length of the threaded hub that protrudes past the twincam wheel is the same on a twincam assembly as on a splined wire wheel assembly. Of course, there is no splined section on a twincam hub, which is thus shorter that a wire wheel hub. Not sure where you're headed, but good luck. RZ

Have you talked to Peter Wood in the UK or the Twin Cam/Deluxe web postings? Peter deals with mostly orig stuff but may point you in the right direction.

Sorry but I've sold all the dunlop wheels I had except the ones on my DeLuxe. The knock offs on the Dunlop wheels are unique also and will be a give away if they aren't copied too but that's another story. Seems like you might be swimming upstream but I do it all the time. Good luck.
I can tell you that when I show a Twin Cam or especially the Deluxe 90% of the show judges (car owners) don't know what they're looking at so I'm not sure I'd go all in with the look alike dunlop wheels but that's just me.
Ricky
Hello Lee,
You should contact Twin Cam Jim and discuss your needs. If anyone can help you it is Jim.
Here is a link to his website, his contact details can be found there.
Regards,
Bob.

Last year I talked to someone who had a set of the fake knock-off hubcaps but I am darned if I can remember who it was. He may have just been a guy who approached me at a car show after seeing my car.
He told me how he bought his set from a shop or possibly a roadside "museum" somewhere in the Nevada/Arizona area then showed them to Al Moss, who apparently had a partial set that he was unable to complete. If Al Moss was unable to find a set then the odds are pretty poor for the rest of us!
My solution was to do the full Twin-Cam wheel swap. I found everything on E-bay but unfortunately it was ridiculously expensive!
Good Luck!
Rich

Good morning Rich-
I like the look of the t/c wheels on your ZA.
Maybe it's a coincidence, we have a winter apartment in Scottsdale and my MGA is being worked on by a fellow in Flagstaff;
not too many hours from the Nevada/Arizona border.
Do you know how I can get in touch with Al Moss?
thanks for the post,
regards, lee b.
Not me Ralph.
Give Tiger a call. I understand he has them stashed all over the place!;)
Lee, I don't know how one would get hold of Al. Sorry
