Behind the seats in a Mk1 B, there are two chromed nuts on the wheel wells of each side. Have I described this well enough for anyone to be able to tell me what these are for ? Thanks. t

On my 69 there are two bolts that are just behind the rear cockpit on the rear trunk panel. They were the mount for the shoulder safety belt. Mine are chrome bumper bolts to fill the holes. That's all I can think of. Got pictures, that would be a big help.
I think he means these. I never knew what they were for either. I thought maybe shoulder belt anchors as well but 1966 was before shoulder belts were the norm.
Three point belts were an option. They were fixed and not retractable. There is only one female fixed anchor on each side of my car. Not sure about the second one.
Carl and Tim: There are anchors on the sill and trans tunnel and the aforementioned wheel arch. No seat belts came with the car. I used single lap belt attached with two eye bolts in the lower fining points. I will use three straps if I ever finish this project, anchoring the third on the wheel arch. Threaded hold in the sill is visable in this shot. The second picture shows how chaffing from lap belt destroyed piping on driver's seat.
They used to make brackets that attached to them for the shoulder harness. I built my own when I went three point several years ago. If anyone has a photo of the real item I'd enjoy seeing it.
Yeah those are the bolt caps that I was talking about- thanks . t

Fixing a Hole... Wasn't that a song by the Beatles?

Or you could just learn how to Edit a message. I do it all the time when I spot a spelling mistake that I've made.
