Found some old Ford Falcon turbine wheels that look good but I think they may be too wide. Has anyone used a 14 X 6.5 wheel on a GT? It does have the correct 4X4.5 lug pattern.

Offset/backspacing will be critical. What rubs is not the wheel, but the tire. The width of a given tire doesn't change too much on a wider rim, so if you figure on using a 195 width (as many of us do) you could come out OK.

I'm using some vintage shelby rims - 14x6.5. In my case, the extra 1" vs stock split evently front to back. I'm running 195x60 Falken Azenis rubber and had to roll the rear fender lips to avoid continuing to cut into the shoulder.
Key will be in knowing the offset.
