I plan to re-do my front brakes. I know drilled and slotted brakes are better, but I am trying to save some money, so will brand new regular rotors be sufficient, or do you all suggest I spend the extra bucks on the premiums ones.

Drilled and slotted better than what? (probably better due to good advertising)
Depends on how you drive. Drilled and slotted if you drive aggressively. Stock is just fine for a more normal driving style.
They will be sufficient. I've sold maybe one pair of drilled and slotted since starting in 1997; (obviously, my sales skills need some polishing! :) )
Clay x 2. Your money is better spent elsewhere. Just get a pair of Brembo solid discs.
My solid rotors (still original) will still lock the front wheels. What more can you ask?
Steve and Frank are right on. Buy some solid Brembo's and drive it like you stole it.
The stock rotors on my car are old and fine. RF is grooved and needs replacement, but you'd never notice driving it. I'd go with the guys above or replace with originals.

Wait a minute, aren't Brembos more expensive?
More expensive than what? Drilled and slotted rotors are $210 per pair at Moss. Brembo solid are $120 per pair, "regular" solid are $58 per pair.

I aways thought Brembos are expensive, it just shows how much I know about these things.
When I replaced my rotors a few years ago with Brembos, the price was about the same as any other solid rotor on the market at the time. Things have changed, indeed, if their price has risen that much. Stock rotors are more than adaquate for normal street driving. My biggest consession was in using the pricey Mintex pads. They work very well, but leave behind quite a mess. RAY
Last time I did my brakes, I bought the slotted and drilled rotors and greenstuff pads. I did this because I has switched to greenstuff pads on my Land Rover and it made a HUGE difference. On the MGB, the difference was marginal and definitely not worth the money I spent, plus the slotted rotors are noisey during braking on an open car, they make a big swishing sound when you put on the brakes! lol
On my land rover I do a good deal of towing and use it in extreme temps. The ceramic pads really helped in those conditions.
Stock MGBs have very good brakes if they're properly maintained. They also have relatively thick rotors that should survive several resurfacing cycles. Cost me $10 last spring. Now that's cheap!
It's been a long time but when I ordered stock replacements from Moss, they were Brembo.
I'm with the others on stock solid ones for the B. I think most buy the slotted/drilled for the bling factor. Slots will help with outgassing the pad and keep them from glazing. Drilling holes hasn't proven to have much effect. Some even claim the holes can lead to stress cracking.
BTW, The EBC Green pads are a Kevlar compound. Thier Redstuf pads are Ceramic. I have Green on the B with stock rotors and Red on the TR8 with an uprated ventilated and sloted disc setup.
I bought a pair of stock rotors from LBCCo a few years back and was surprised to discover they were made by Brembo!
Agree on the cost - and be VERY careful of drilled rotors - if they are not drilled correctly they can crack and potentially disintigrate under heavy braking! I chased a "vibration under braking" problem on our roadster for several months and finally replace the drilled rotors that were there when I bought the car. Stopped the vibration, and examination of the rotors revealed that BOTH were cracked - the left side in several places!

Used the EBC dimpled rotor/greenstuff kit on my Discovery 2. Worked quite well. When a high spot on the rotor came up, I figured I would try the Rover's North Proline pad/rotor kit (about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the ebc). Got to say they worked just as well. The greenstuff did have far less brake dust.
Also I do pull a heavy sailboat trailer reglarly (3500+#), and they stand up to braking that puppy quite well.
I have had great luck with their proline stuff. Also - check your front driveshaft! Just replaced mine..was making chirping noises. They have a new Proline shaft for (relatively) short money.
But back on topic.. I see zero reason to use slotted/dimpled rotors on a B. The brembos are great and reasonably priced
You can get the Brembo solid rotors from www.thebhive.com. Gordon gives great service and his prices are normally the best that I have been able to find.
Drilled and slotted TRW rotors are available at $94/pair at British Parts Northwest, $42/pair for solid - http://www.bpnorthwest.com/.sc/ms/dd/MGB--Braking%20Components/7635/Brake%20Rotor%20Set%20Drilled%26Slotted%20MGB
From what I've read the slots are supposed to be advantageous in heavily wet conditions. Its supposed to help dry the rotor since the pads squeegee the water into the slots instead of having a boundary layer of water beneath them. I do know that I sense a hesitation in braking effectiveness under those conditions that seems to last about 1/2 second or so. Cross drilled for cooling? I'd rather have vaned rotors.
Stock rotors are fine. No benefit with drilled rotors for a street car with a possible exception if you live at the top of a mountain and could use some extra cooling for a long descent to the bottom. And no need to spend the extra for Brembo.
It's not like you hear horror stories about cars with stock rotors. They've proven themselves on over 500,000 'Bs over almost 50 years.
I bought the Moss slot ones. I know it was a waste but they look good when the wheel is off!:D
I bought the slotted and drilled rotors and the mbv8 Green Stuff pads. I cannot really see a difference from my old Mintex pads and regular rotors. Maybe under very harsh condition, but I usually drive these cars hard.

Some drilled rotors,,they forgot to champfer the holes after drilling (saving money )
No, you're right that they are more expensive than some other options. They just aren't more expensive than a drilled and slotted set of equal quality.
