I sure did as every day. then again it is only a mile to work.
It is supposed to rain later today. Time to keep her in the garage, safe and warm.
My Work is 1 hour each way.starts off nice through a scenic place called cannock chase.Deer running wild in the pitch black of early morning is nerve racking.I've seen many a wrecked car and horrible sites in the middle of the road, with deer guts and blood everywhere.later on my journey takes me through city traffic with all the usual idiots cutting you up,folks in the latest company audi trying to race you etc.so generally I only use mine for weekend pleasure driving, not midweek horror driving.not yet anyway.
Scraped the ice off and drove it to work. Light day, only put about 20 miles on.
Who works??

X2 - As Maynard used to say on Dobie Gillis - "WORK"!!!!!!
Anyone who knows what I'm talking about knows how old I am.
Hey Owen, according to the weather forcast,we got some -12 c nights coming this week.Hope you've wrapped her up well.

True as many of the members here are close to senior citizen or retirement age, no offence!
James
MG= Mostly Grandads.

That sounds a bit on the cool side, Phil. It'll have to survive with an air coat. :D
I did and my overdrive didn't work! It really sucked driving on the freeway doing 4k. Glad I got Miata seat with speakers. Guess what I'm doing tonight. I'm hoping its just the solonoid as I have a new one on the shelf. Anyone know any quick tests I can run to rule out the electric side? Yes my tranny is full so its not a low oil issue.
Its an early Dtype OD
Sam
I have a late model OD, but when it stopped working, it was because the wire that goes to the solenoid had gotten tangled in the output shaft. Reconnected it and tied it up and it was good to go.
I have driven the/a M.G. to work & everywere else for the last 30 years. Befor that it was Morris Minors, Austin Americas,60 A.H.Sprite,67 Sunbeam, 70 BSA & 71 Triumph motorcycle. I hope to build a teardrop camper to pull behind my G.T. & start to do some sight seeing on the old roads, would rather put 2 tanks of gas in the G.T. than 1 night in a room.
Didn't drive it to work (Don't do that anymore) but...had the GT out all day and drove nearly 100 miles just going here and there.
Mike
Should have, but didn't. But when I got home I did drive it to the store and back, top down. I think it's the first time I've ever driven it in Feb. with the top down.
Sure did! And then into Norfolk for a run with the gang. Full moon drive!
Geez, my hat's off to you who drive every day - especially those with longer drives. If it's rainy, like today, I leave mine home. In fact, I don't drive it to work as often as I used to. Summer will be different - I will pu the top down probably some time in May and I will stay down until about October unless a surprise rain storm catches me. I usually leave it home if there is a strong chance of rain. That has not always been the case - I've owned it since 1981 and for about the first dozen years, it was my everyday transportation.

Oh, and, yes, I do remember Maynard and Dobie. Unfortunately, my retirement fund went to hell in a hand basket and I'm still working and will be for quite a while if the work holds out. That is, unless the real estate market makes some kind of miraculous recovery and I can sell my house and downsize to a travel trailer...
We just got our B after a two year search, so I've drove her to work every day this week. Found the wipers need a bit of work, and that little knob on the window crank is a bit dodgy, and there's a small oil leak, and...... :)
Retired, but I drove my wife to work. Somebody has to work in the family!
Now I can get back to welding the floor pan in the mini, after coffee and reading the paper. And playing frisbee with the dog.
No wonder I haven't made much progress.
Middle of Michigan drove to work today. 18 deg. sunny clear roads. life is good.>:D<
Sore point. Where I live to get collectors insurance, not allowed to drive to work or business .Nicest day of the year, I had business that would have given me a 100 mile drive, car has only done 10 miles since December. Opted to caution and took the wife's TSX. Grumbled the whole time about not driving the B.Got there a lot faster
John
Last week. I was having a bummer morning and needed a "pick me up"...temps were in the low 60's down here, so I gave the ol' girl a snort of starting fluid and enjoyed the ride into work. (about 30 miles round trip)
Took her out again last night to the car club meeting...she runs very well...just doesn't want to start without a jolt of air intake spray!
Once she cranks...she's good for the rest of the day's starting.
I'm running higher octane fuel through the tank right now to see if that cures the starting problem. Can't wait for warmer weather.
I missed a perfect day yesterday but did drive the MGB today. A bit brisk with the top down this morning. It was 42 degrees F. Normally a 34 mile round trip but with a trip to the doctor's office and then a vehicle inspection, I'll probably put on about 50 miles today.
Hardly missed a day this winter so far with exception of a "snow" and a couple of "rain" days. Been very mild here in RI, not complaining though... Top down as usual and folks think I have a screw or two loose. 26F when I left the house this morning, driven in colder weather before. Mind you, I don't have too far to drive to work
Not me, I actually have to get to work, and its 90 miles 1 way
Tim
Living in Southern California really sucks.
Boring, uninteresting blue skies.
Noisy waves crashing against the beach.
Having a cup of coffee, while idling along in 1st gear. Then screaming up to 85 with the blower whining to buzz the black Mercedes and Audis. Singing along with Runrig (http://www.runrig.co.uk/) while the droids in their power suits stare in envy.
Darn.
Kelvin.
Its the only cars I have 8-) its either foot, bus, plane or MG. Well I should include my bicycles in summer. Office is in the house so I guess I walked to work today.
I deive either one of the BGT's or the Jag. Just depends.
steve
Steve, I've seen both your GTs, but I don't believe I've seen the Jag.
I walk to work, but if I were driving to work I wouldn't hesitate to take the B.
Jack,
It's a 1985 XJ6 with a chevy V8. I've had it sence 1996.
Lots of miles, but still runs good.
Steve
Yep, made to work one more time. Pretty nice day here - no snow. :)-D
if you look real close you can see the GT on the far side of the parking lot. Was a great drive in to work today.
Decided to drive to work today...

Wow! Another one with the special edition black bonnet. I thought I had the only one. :D

Getting painted soon enough and then you will have the only one again.
Yours looks better with a black bonnet anyways ;)
:(
I live at work so the MG has been there, here, whatever since the snowstorm and salt last month.
Every day since I got it on the road, until the cylinder head sprung a leak (last week).
Everyday this week. Breaking in new motor - needing to fix overdrive.
I did ALL last winter.... and I live in Virginia where last winter was crappy... coming home from work one day in what seemed liked the blizzard of the century (it is when you are in an mg..lol)...I passed one of new bmw z cars in the ditch, and me and ole Bonnie just passed right on by...lol
